FAQs

Products & Prints

No. We currently do not offer framed prints, primarily because everyone has their own preferences and décor to match so we would need to carry a large inventory of frames to accommodate a wide variety of styles. We prefer to sell art.
We have sized our prints to fit into standard sized frames and mats for your convenience. You can go to any ready-made frame shop or custom framer. For the best results we recommend acid free, museum quality products, including matting and tape. The acid in normal paper will 'eat' through the artwork paper causing discoloration and deterioration over time. We also suggest using glass with UV protection to prevent fading.
  • 11" x 15"
  • 15" x 22"
  • 22" x 30"
These sizes coincide with the sizes of the original paintings and were designed to fit standard sized mats and frames.
Giclée printing (pronounced Jee-clay) is considered to be the highest quality digital reproduction technique for fine art. An extremely high resolution, detailed scanning process is employed, during which the image and texture of the original artwork is captured in a digital file. The giclée prints are created using specialized printers that literally spray the image onto the paper.
Signed prints are generally reserved for limited editions and will also include the number of that edition. The prints currently for sale are not limited editions; however if you are interested in purchasing a signed print, please contact us.
We recommend using only acid free materials and UV protected glass to ensure the greatest longevity of your print.
Luster paper has a smooth non-reflective finish, is acid-free and has a satin like sheen. (It doesn't have the glare that is associated with glossy photo paper.) Virginia's richly colored paintings reproduce very well on this paper.
This paper has the look and feel of traditional watercolor paper. It has a textured surface for a truly artistic appearance. Virginia's brilliant colors stand out on this non-reflective, acid-free paper and prints on this paper look most like the original paintings.
Occasionally, Virginia will accept a custom painting commission. Click here to contact Virgina to request to request a phone consultation about your ideas.

  1. Initial Contact - Contact Virginia using the form on the Contact page. Please leave your phone number and Virginia or a qualified representative will call you to discuss your project for your home or business. We apologize, but we cannot give cost estimates over the phone due to the variety of factors that go into calculating an estimate for any project. We are happy to make an appointment to meet with you in person and then we will be able to prepare an accurate quote for your job.
  2. Consultation – At the initial consultation, Virginia will meet with you for a preliminary site evaluation to discuss your ideas. There is no fee for this initial on-site consultation in San Diego County; outside San Diego County there may be a small fee for travel expenses.
  3. Quote and Renderings – Once all of the specifications are discussed, we will prepare a quote for your job. Most often a job will require us to do small renderings to show you what the mural will look like before we begin painting the full-sized mural. There is a non-refundable fee for creating the renderings usually between $75 - $150. This fee is waived if you hire us to do the mural. Whether you hire us or not, the renderings remain the property of Virginia Holt. When the renderings are approved and you accept our terms, you will need to sign and return our contract, along with your 50% deposit. Your quote is good for 90 days.
  4. Schedule - Once we receive your deposit we will schedule your project into our calendar.
  5. Painting the Mural – Please remove any items that may obstruct access to the area to be painted prior to our arrival. We will prepare the area and take all of the necessary precautions to keep the work area safe and clean. How long it takes to paint your mural depends on the size and detail of the mural. We will coordinate the time frame with you prior to beginning your project so you can make the necessary arrangements.
  6. Final payment - Upon completion of the mural final payment is due. We accept cash, checks or credit cards.
